All of it is yours permanently, in your repository, whether you upgrade with us or not. Fixed price, agreed on the call before anything starts.

Depending on what the Baseline turns up, the sensible path might be an in-place upgrade to Drupal 11, a move to a different platform, or staying put and hardening properly while you fund it. You'll get each option costed, with our recommendation and the reasoning, and you're free to disagree.

Which versions of Drupal 10 are still supported?

Only 10.6, and only until 9 December 2026. Drupal 10.5 lost support on 17 June 2026; 10.4 and earlier on 10 December 2025. If you're on those, you're unsupported now, not in December.

Can we go straight from Drupal 10 to Drupal 12?

No. Drupal doesn't allow skipping a major version. The path is 10.6 to Drupal 11, then Drupal 12 later. Drupal 12 ships the week of 7 December 2026 — brand new, two days before Drupal 10 dies. For almost every NZ site the target is Drupal 11.

What happens if we do nothing after 9 December 2026?

Nothing breaks, which is what makes it dangerous. Patches stop - for core and for contributed modules. Every vulnerability found after that has no official fix. For most organisations the first consequence isn't an attack, it's a security review, an insurer or an auditor.

Drupal 11, or move off Drupal?

Drupal 11 is the default and usually right: supported into 2028, cleanest upgrade path Drupal has offered, and you keep what you've built. Moving only makes sense when the version isn't what's holding you back. A Baseline answers that with evidence.

Do we have to buy a Baseline?

Usually not. Most upgrades are straightforward and we can price one off the call. A Baseline is for codebases where nobody can say what's in there — heavy customisation, missing history, too much riding on it to guess. They run $1,200 to $4,000, fixed and agreed before anything starts. And we're happy to tell you that you don't need one.

Why can't you just quote the upgrade?

Often we can. What we can't do is quote blind. The version bump is the easy part - the price comes from what's built on top: custom modules, patched contrib, integrations, work left half-finished. A guess becomes a variation later.

What do we actually get?

A map of the application, your requirements documented, tests over your critical flows, and a compatibility report across code, PHP, database and hosting. Yours permanently, in your repository. Then your options and cost.

We're not on Drupal.

Send the domain anyway. We work across Wordpress, Silverstripe 3 to 6, PHP 5.6 to 8.5, Django and Vue. Silverstripe 5 runs out on 30 April 2027 — and it's disproportionately a New Zealand platform. The check is free either way.
