How do you communicate the magnitude of a giant? Waxeye and Downer Group joined forces to bridge the gap between individual expertise and group-wide strength through a custom-built, unified 3D ecosystem.

The challenge was to design a bold, enduring visual language and a cohesive system that could unite the business units, adapt across media, and engage audiences with meaningful, real-world impact.

We created a 3D circular ecosystem where each business unit has its own space within a connected whole. The design feels grounded and tactile, conveying stability and real-world impact, while giving clarity and coherence to Downer’s complex operations.

The ecosystem came to life, guiding viewers through each service and providing a consistent communication tool. It also became an interactive mixed reality experience, with hotspots revealing services, data, and capabilities—offering an immersive way to explore Downer’s business at presentations and events.

To complete the story, we created a 90-second film that traced Downer’s history, celebrated its legacy, and unveiled the new ecosystem. It took centre stage at Downer's 2025 Investor Day.

The ecosystem transformed Downer’s storytelling, making communications clearer and more engaging. A unified visual language across video, mixed reality, and digital platforms highlighted the company’s integrated value and strengthened the investor narrative. Following Investor Day, the approach was widely praised and is now the premium asset in Downer's brand suite.
