A virtual flight into the future of aviation
The future of flight

Take a virtual flight into the future of aviation. Waxeye and Wisk joined forces to build an immersive VR flight experience and a mixed reality walkthrough of Wisk's fully autonomous Generation 6 air taxi.

Waxeye has been working with Wisk since 2018 on creating simulated VR flight experiences, starting with a 360VR filmed flight over Central Otago in the Gen 5 aircraft. Fast forward to the Gen 6 experience, and the ambition had grown. With the aircraft still in development and interest building across multiple international markets, Wisk needed a way to bring the experience to their audience, wherever that audience happened to be.

Rather than a concept flyover, we built the experience around actual downtown-to-airport routes in Houston and Brisbane. The familiar skylines helped truly immerse passengers in Wisk's air taxi vision.

Concept

The visuals use real-world 3D terrain layered with authentic satellite imagery, supplemented with our own modelling for near-field assets and the aircraft's takeoff and landing vertiports. The result holds up under close, moving scrutiny from the air.

The mixed reality component of the experience opens with a scaled-down aircraft landing on an interactive platform, playing an animated sequence that showcases the aircrafts key features. Users can then scale the aircraft to 1:1 and walk through the cabin itself.

A carefully crafted 3D digital twin of the interior concept puts users right in the passenger seat, giving them a genuine sense of what it feels like to fly in a Wisk air taxi.

Both experiences run natively on Meta Quest 3, giving stakeholders a single, self-contained way to move from flying the route to exploring the aircraft in mixed reality. The whole thing fits in a backpack, ready to deploy on the fly at investor meetings, community briefings, or trade show floors. No site visits, no logistics, just Wisk's vision, wherever it needs to go.

Bring your vision to life
When a product is still in development or too big, complex, or inaccessible to see in person, immersive simulation lets people experience it as if it already exists. Useful for aircraft, ships, infrastructure, industrial equipment, or any large-scale concept.
Create digital twins of actual places
The real-world 3D terrain and satellite imagery workflow built for Houston and Brisbane is a repeatable approach for building accurate digital twins of any location, ready to support planning, visualisation, or immersive storytelling.
Win over stakeholders, wherever they are
Immersive experiences turn abstract concepts into something people can feel. A powerful tool for winning trust with investors, communities, and decision-makers, without the cost or logistics of bringing them to a physical site.
Test the vision before you build it
Simulation lets you explore concepts, surface customer pain points, and refine the direction of a product long before the first prototype exists.
